Grateful To The Squirrel Board

Attachment 121468Hello to all of you wonderful, kind-hearted people! I started reading The Squirrel Board a few weeks ago when a young neighbor brought me a skinny, lost baby squirrel she had found wandering in the street. (now named Rickey-F) Over the years our family has gotten a reputation as animal lovers, so we are the first place that friends and friends of friends come to with their critter concerns. I have fostered squirrels over the past few years, but wanted to brush up on correct procedure for young orphans, so called a rehabber I know in Tarpon for advice, and then got connected with TSB. I gained a lot of helpful info, but didn't actually register with TSB until a few days later when I acquired another squirrel of similar age who was having respiratory problems and needed vet care over the weekend. All of your responses were so quick and extremely helpful.Thank You! to all of you, and especially for the pm's. The little guy, Remus, is currently taking antibiotics and he no longer has symptoms. Rickey has stayed healthy, and both are steadily gaining weight and have started nibbling on fruits and veggies. YES, they are on FV. (figured you were wondering) I'm going to try to put a few pictures in. . . patience, please if I try and err . . .

That is Rickey with the Qzar ticket and the pencil, not Remus. Anybody have a guess at their ages? The pic of the two of them is from a few days ago and shows Rickey on the left and Remus on the right. Today she weighed 206 and he weighed 185.

Your girls look so much like mine! Willow has a short, rounded head and little ears like the one on the right/back and Reilly has the longer typical squirrel face and big ears like the one on the left/front. So cute!
