I copied your original post so you would need to click on the link below and post a reply. Hopefully, you will start getting responses.

I would take them for you but I am in Tampa. I know of a rehabber in Lakeland. I will see if she is available. Or if we can have someone pick the babies up from you and meet me somewhere halfway or so.
Thanks,
Michele
This list does not include "all" permitted rehabbers in Texas. It is seldom updated.Originally Posted by rehabber
I have a ten week old baby squirrel and I need help in releasing him into the wild but not sure she is old enough. I would be soooo.. grateful for any information on how to do this or when she would be old enough.
I am finding it very difficult so take care of her as I have two dogs, four cats, and two birds as well thank god I only work part time.
We live in Montreal and have been mom and dad since she was two weeks old.
We would appreciate any information regarding the above.
Thank you Pam and Brian

You've probably posted in the wrong place here in this thread.
I wouldn't advise you release a young one this late in the year personally. You need to find a rehabber in your area to over winter it.

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone knows or knows of a rehabber in Elko County, Nevada. I am looking for info on becoming a rehabber here and I can't find any closer to where I live than Reno which is a little over 4 hours away... Not that I won't drive that far, I just can't do it all the time if I have don't have to. I'm really hoping someone knows! Thanks all!

Thanks =) they had one listed and they are a little bit farther than Reno from here, but I'm going to try to get in touch with them about stuff. Does anyone know where I would get the information on what all I have to do before I can get my licence in NV? I've looked a bunch of places and all I could find was the form to get a rehabber licence. If nobody does no problem, I have to go get my truck licensed this week so I'll stop by the Department of Wildlife Services or what ever and see if they can help me. Thanks again guys! You are all AWESOME!

This is a great reference. I'm going to visit with one of my local rehabbers.

I believe this is the same list with a link that still works here http://wildliferehabinfo.org/ContactList_MnPg.htm
There is good reason for not releasing grays in the Pacific Northwest. They compete with native animals, to the detriment of their populations. Same thing in England, I believe. I love squirrels as much as anyone, but they simply don't belong in some places. My specialization in grad school was invasive species, and this is a good example.
I lived in Australia for years, and non-natives there have sent some animals to extinction. Cute little bunnies were a horrible economic and environmental problem until a disease was introduced to control them.
KristiS, you replied here to a very old post (2008) but nevertheless the issue of invasive v. non-invasive will always be a sticky one amongst wildlife rehabbers. Those who are paid to manage wildlife think in terms of large populations. Those who volunteer to save individuals think in terms of....individuals. I don't believe there will ever be common ground, since I personally see most human beings here as an invasive species who should not be calling the kettle black.
Going to have to agree to disagree on this one!
