Dried Corn on the Cob

I was just wondering if dried corn on the cob was bad to give to our pet squirrels?

I've seen a number of references to fuzzers eating corn on the cob - no problems indicated.

Just be sure to not use too much butter and salt AND have plenty of dental floss on hand :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

lol, apple corps. as treat, no reason not. It's not chock full o' nutrition so certainly not a staple, but a treat sure.

Ditto to TS.....don't use it as a meal, but it's a fun treat to gnaw on as long as they are getting a balanced diet.:thumbsup

I hang an ear of dried corn in my cages, and they all love it. They do, however, still eat their regular, healthy diet. I bought some 'eye screws' or whatever they are called - screws with a circle on top - and hang them from a piece of chain in the cage. Just screw the eye bolt into the end of the corn cob. That way, they can't just sit and stuff themselves - they have to work a little to get it. It's fun to watch their leaps to get the corn, and to watch them sit and figure out the best way to get it.

Sounds like a great idea. I'll try that. You've got a good point about them not being able to just sit and stuff themselves.
