Hey guys, I don't know if you remember me or not, but sometime in September of '06, I found a grey squirrel that fell out of a tree with some injuries. I rarely post here mainly because I usually am able to find the information I need in other posts. I moved to another state sometime in July of this year, and Steve (the squirrel) came with me.
Anyway, to my point. Recently he started having some hair loss on his stomach and the top of his paws, just minor stuff. His tail has been thin for a little while now, but not very noticable at all. He's also had some diarrhea. I changed his diet, added more variety and healthier foods, and I haven't noticed any more stool troubles in the past coupla days. One other issue that I've noticed is a slight bagginess on his stomach, which is what made me think dehydrated, perhaps caused by the diarrhea. I don't know.
Basically, I just wanted to know if this sounded familiar to anyone. I picked up some Pedialyte tonight, and I can't remember how much to give him. I believe I gave him about 10-20ccs earlier, but I basically was just seeing if he would drink that. He hasn't been drinking water at all the past few days, which has had me a little bit concerned also. I've tried giving him water with a small bottle by hand, and this made him very disgruntled. So I scratched that idea. Fortunately though, he did take the Pedialyte.
Thanks for your help, in advance. And once again, how much pedialyte do you think I should give him, and if there's anything else you'd recommend, I'd appreciate it.

As long as he is drinking the pedilyte I'd let him have as much as he wanted. A very good way to monitor a critters health when you suspect something is not right but can't put your finger on it is by weight. I would monitor his weight at least once a week until you are sure everything is okay.:)

Hi MaxX and Steve,
What is his diet ? Make sure he has lots of juicy veggies and fruit so he will constantly get water through the food he eats too. Post some pictures of Steve if you can.:)

Thanks for your replies! I really appreciate it.
As for diet, I've just recently changed his diet to include better, and juicier foods, so I'm sure he's getting water through those.
As for full spectrum lighting, I just recently found out what it was. So, yeah, whoops. I have him next to a window that's open for most of the day, so I figured he got direct sunlight through that. What kind of lamp/whatever would you recommend getting? I'm clueless about that.
Once again, thanks guys!

Is it possible for you to take him outside in his cage for a few hours a day?
Make sure not to put him in direct sun.
