How do you get baby squirrels to drink water? I have both a water bottle and a small dish of water in their cage. The ignore the water bottle completely. The dish they will check out but they are not drinking it - just kind of splash with their hands and stick their nose in it then shaking their heads. :dono
Also, how much solid food should they be eating now? They are 7-8 weeks old.

Are they to be released? if so then it's good they're checking out the bowl not the bottle, there aren't any bottles hanging from trees :D Your guys are doing just what my baby wilds do when confronting the water bowls I keep outside. figuring out how to get that stuff drunk without pushing their whole heads in, I bet they'll figure it out, just keep it clean full and available :D

they'll eventually learn how to drink from a bowl like an adult. forget the water bottle- squirrels rarely learn how to use those.
just make sure the water isn't too deep, for now. let 'em play with it- eventually it will turn into drinking.

I've put water bowls out for my wilds and I float peanuts, grapes, or other treats in the water to help them find and figure the whole bowl thing out. Works very well!

At 7-8 weeks old, they should still be on formula. If so, they get most or all of their water from the formula. What are you feeding them now?
