I have 2 babies that I have been caring for just under 2 weeks, I think they are nearing 3 weeks old.

They have both gone from 17 grams to 47 and 42 grams. They get 7-9 feedings a day of Esbilac puppy formula (with probiotics) mixed with 0.25 ml heavy whipping cream.

As of yesterday evening the female has barely produced any urine when stimulated. Twice none was produced and twice it was just 2-3 drops. The urine was clear and I did not detect an odor. Her genital area looks normal.

She is eating normal and still very wiggly when picked up.

So my first question is should I be concerned about the urine output? I know she is probably going some on her fleece as she moves around, but before she was peeing quite a bit when stimulated.

My second issue: both have started having soft poops. I was thinking of taking out the heavy cream and just feeding the Esbilac. I have the Fox Valley 20/50 waiting until they are old enough. Should I try anything else to solidify the poops?

And could the increase in fluids in her poop be causing the decrease in urine?

She looks absolutely perfect! I bet she is peeing on her own. Very gently potty her before AND after you feed.

What is your actual recipe for formula? You are using .25ml cream in how much puppy formula?

I haven’t been able to stimulate her before feeding, she gets VERY fussy and wiggly. She knows when I pick her up it is time to eat.

I was told to do 0.25 ml heavy cream in a 3 cc syringe. The other 2.75 cc is Esbilac puppy formula (2:1 water to formula ratio). I mix this well and redraw into a 1 cc syringe.
