3.5 y/o NR. Neuro. Never had any issues with skin before. No changes in diet\detergent etc. Eats Healthy blocks, proper calcium to phosphorus ratio etc. has been itching for about a month now. Treated with revolution for possible issues with the creepy crawlies, or possibly mange as well….treated with gabapentin as per vet instructions. Used cortisone cream, lotrimin cream and neosporin cream. Of course she has created the wounds from scratching which I am treating. And at some point she started to grow some fur back on the sides.
I am trying to upload pictures.328706328707

We had a neuro Ziggy for 2.5 years - he had limited use of all four limbs, could not sit on his own, moved about by belly crawling and/or slide slithering.
Ziggy refused to pee or poop in his cage, and my attempts to get him to use large trays with actual grass did not work either. So, even in winter, we took him outside to pee and poop.
So, going outside to a yard with many other squirrels, Ziggy got constant exposure to whatever vermin were out there.
And given the way he moved about, Ziggy would get areas where the fur would get rubbed off, even with a cage where all the surfaces were fleece.
So, we had lots of experience with both sore spots and itching!
For the sore spots, derma gel was great -

For the itching and vermin, we used coconut oil (which is anti-fungal) with a few drops added of lavender oil (for the itching) and neem oil (for the vermin). This worked really well, and Ziggy absolutely loved his coconut oil massage when we applied it. He would actively his limbs out to help us get every spot. We did this weekly.

Thank you very much. I will order the gel. I can definitely try coconut oil. Any specific lavender?

No specific brand for coconut oil, lavender oil, or neem oil.
The coconut oil will be solid or nearly solid at cooler room temperatures but quickly melts in your hands.
