I was wonder how much each one of you feed your baby squirrel when they are 7 weeks old... and if you remove the dish of food from the cage at night?
Max is eating.... Walnuts, Zupreem and Apples right now - I will be adding a new fruit or vegetable to his diet plan next week.

hmm....at this age, i'd probably give him two rodent blocks, a full apple wedge, two totally peeled grapes, four walnut halves, one peanut (in shell), ten or twenty sunflower seeds, ten or fifteen cheerios, and half an ear of fresh corn. plus formula on half a piece of whole wheat crustless bread.
that's just my estimate for a half-a-day to a full day of eating, depending on how much they eat.

OK kewl..... and do you split that up between two feedings per day (morning & night) or do you place it all in their dish and let them eat as they want to through out the day? - removing the left overs at night.
Keep in mind I believe she is feeding Fox squirrels. If I were to feed my greys that much they wouldn't fit into their nest boxes at night. My greys get a piece of fruit (grape size), a handful of squirrel grop, fresh greens and a slice of sweet potato or carrot and perhaps a nut (not every day) in the morning I leave rodent block in the cage at night if they care to snack. Another treat they love is Banana chips.:)

Thanks Mars..... that sounds close to what I have been feeding Max - I will keep it up and remove the dish at night.
and Thanks for reminding Me to always let people know what type of Squirrel I have when I am asking questions. :thumbsup
Max is a standard Florida Grey!!!!

I have another question... concerning the Zupreem Food.
Is it best to serve it soaked in water or puppy milk verses leaving it dry and breaking it into smaller pieces?

I always leave it dry and whole. They like chewing on it. If you soak it, soak it in milk, not water. The problem with that is the milk goes bad.
Definetely stick more with Mars diet or reduce TS's some. She deals with northern Foxers like me and they are much bigger than your Florida Greys. Also, I think her diet was for more than one foxer, although they tend to be pigs.

The average squirrel eats roughly their own body weight in food per week. (Unless you're Mr. Tilty or Squarlet....:D)
