16 days into some sort of abscess or infection in need of services in Delaware

I’m very much in need of services I cannot provide to a 3y/o non releasable

He’s got some sort of abscess / infection and swelling in his cheek. Out coming out from eye I’m assuming due to swollen abscess in cheek.


Pleading for services at this point I’ve been tossed around every which way and I just need someone to treat this guy I do not have the exp to do such treatments

My guess is that this is a tooth issue. Look around and perhaps try some rabbit forums online to see if you can find any vets that deal frequently with rodent teeth. Rabbits are popular pets and a bunny vet would have the ability to do squirrels if they were willing...

Hi Nessus and thank you for finding The Squirrel Board and thank your for your concern about your Squirrel! What is the name of your Squirrel?
I have a suggestion based upon what you are describing in regard to both your Squirrel's apparent very serious condition involving the skin around his eye and quite possibly the eye itself coupled with your expressed inexperience with dealing with issues such as these and that would be for us to try help you find a Rehabber willing to take in your Squirrel and evaluate and treat him! Most all licensed Rehabbers also have a relationship with a Veterinarian who can provide specialized services that are unavailable even to Rehabbers. Most Veterinarians will not see wildlife even if they have become pets and the one possible exception to this is when a licensed Rehabber requests their professional services in behalf of an animal under the direct care of the Rehabber! I do not know if this is possible for us to arrange but I would like to encourage you to let us try to help with arranging this! Making this choice in behalf of your Squirrel could potentially save his life or minimize or prevent further problems from developing! Please consider this option and let us try to help make it happen if at all possible and the sooner the better!
