Black thumbs

My squirrel just stopped eating and drinking. I noticed both of his thumbs are round and black the size of a pea. I don’t have a clue what could have happened to him. I did get him to drink some water and nibble on some soft food.

Thank you for finding The Squirrel Board! I'm sorry for what is going on with your Squirrel (Bud?)! What is his name?

I'm at work but hopefully this woll bump your post back in view for other and I will check in as time permits. First of all (and this would be a coincudence) pleae check to see if some thrad from bedding or whatever might have gotten wrapped around your Squirrel's thumbs! This hsppens all too frequently!

Could you please post photos! How is your Squirrel doing now? Do you have a Vet for your Squirrel and if so can you get him seen today?

Yes like Sam said something can get wrapped around their tiny fingers, use a magnifying glass and good lighting.
