Hi! I found a baby chipmunk lost in my backyard- I left her in a small box hoping her mom would come back for her but 6 hours passed and she was still there, so I took her in. i followed most of the squirrel rehabbing instructions (diluted pedialyte first 24 hours to rehydrate then fox valley formula) its been a few days and she's doing well but the last time I went to feed her I noticed a minor clicking/wheezing sound. It is not a constant sound, but enough to worry me about aspiration pneumonia. I have baytril to give her on hand already as I have rehabbed a squirrel previously and had it just in case, I just am unsure about what the dosage would be for a chipmunk. She weighs 32 grams. Thank you in advance!

We will need the Baytril strength - it should be on the container it is in. Might it be being sold as "Baytril 10%" or "Enrofloxacin 10%?"

Thank you for your reply! I have Baytril 10% on hand, but I have noticed that the baby chipmunk is doing a lot better so I’m not sure if it’s necessary or not. I only hear the clicking sound coming from her after she is done eating, and it is not a constant sound. I can’t tell if that’s just a noise that she makes to communicate that I’m not used to hearing because I’ve only rehabbed a squirrel before, or if it is pneumonia. She is not lethargic or losing appetite, in fact she was weighing in at 41 grams today when I checked.
