One fo the food charts I saw listed Maple as a safe tree species but looking here I am not wanting to offer them to my squirrels anymore.

I don't believe we have maple trees here but we do have rain trees and it's on the safe list but I read somewhere that they are toxic to rats 🤷
I mostly only give oak branches but I have a yard full of them so easy to do.

I was getting ready to give the branches to my squirrels because it was on the safe list, glad I decided to double check and I don't think I'll be trusting those lists anymore. It may be that squirrels are not impacted in the same way as horses but I'm not wanting to find out.
