*3 male Indian palm squirrels Born on the first week of December 2023. I rescued them on 14 December 2023. Started feeding diluted cow milk. They are normal. But diarrhoea. On 23 December 2023 I replaced cow milk with lactogen 1 formula. The babies fur started falling , sticky fur, diarrhoea persist, complete loss of fur from abdomen and hind leg, itching of posterior region, retarded growth. For S2 baby there is clicking sound while breathing, high after feeding, so I given 2 drops of entrofloxacin from 10mg diluted in 1ml of water for 7 days. Now he started feeding but the symptoms persist except clicking sound. On 5 January 9:15am I given 2 drops of ivermectin (small amount of ivermectin 12mg + Albendazole 400mg tablet dissolved in 2.5ml of water) for S1 and S3 babies. On 6 January 2024 S3 baby showed symptoms of lethargy, inappetence, mucous like stool, low respiration, chewing sound from mouth, died on 6 January 2024 8:00pm. 0n 7 January 2024 6:45am S1 Baby died, after the similar symptoms of S3 Baby. Now S2 is alone. Now S2 baby again showing clicking sound symptom.

Very sad. It sounds to me like a formula problem and/or a feeding instrument problem. If the last surviving baby is clicking then he will need the enrofloxacin to fight the aspiration pneumonia that is causing the clicking. However, what are you feeding him with? I know that Indian palm squirrels are the size of our Chipmunks here, so you should be using a 1 cc syringe to feed him, nothing larger. Can you get Royal Canin baby dog product where you are? Other members in India have used this formula for palm squirrels and it works very well. If you can get this baby through the pneumonia, feeding him very slowly and carefully with a small syringe, there is hope.

Any antibiotic needs to be given for at least 7 days. Please post the strength of your antibiotic and the weight of your baby so you can be given the proper dosage.
Ivermectin is very toxic. Why were you giving ivermectin?

That picture you sent is ivermectin and fenbendazole. That is NOT an antibiotic and is toxic if too much is administered. Please DO NOT give any more of this medicine. It could be what is harming your squirrels.
I will work up dosing of the Enrofloxacin once you post the weight of your squirrel.

I have given this anti parasitic drug one time for S1 and S3 babies. Is this the reason for their death? Please once again read my first post. And give the reply. The weight of the babies are unknown. Can you guess it. I'm thinking it may be 10 or 20 grams and given the drugs depending on them as i mentioned in my first post. Waiting for your reply.

Looking at the way you dosed the ivermectin it doesn’t look very precise. I don’t know if that was the problem or something else but we try to be precise in dosing any medicines.
I will send the dosing in a private message which you can access at the top of the page under notifications.
What are you feeding now?
Edit: Sent dosing in a pm.
