9 year old squirrel fell off window and hit the side of his face on a metal bar.

He fell off the window seal when I turned my back. It happened so fast.
He had a tinge of blood from one nostril and his eye is swollen.
He can walk and hold his head up ok
He is vocalizing when I touch him wants to be left alone.
I can't get him into a veterinarian today.
He less than a pound, about 10 to 11 ounces I would estimate.
Please give me some advice on baby ibuprofen

In addition, the dose above, which is equal to 1/100 equal r one needle drop from (1 ml.) needle syringe, can be placed on the tip of your finger to place just into the edge of the lip behind the incisors. It might also work to add the one needle drop to one drop from a non needle syringe of slightly diluted (not runny), organic yogurt, by loading it into the end atop the pulled up drop of slightly diluted (not runny) yogurt. Do not feed Greek yogurt; it is too high in protein and phosphorus for squirrels with lowered kidney function. Instead use whole fat vanilla yogurt.

How far is the fall from window to metal bar ??

Its been about 18 hours since the fall, have you noticed anything odd with your squirrel ?? (stumbling, dazing, not eating, etc...)

Hello everyone
It's been 48 hours since the fall.
He is improving slowly.
I was able to get him into my veterinarian and she gave him a steroid injection.
I got fantastic advice from CritterMom as well.
Thanks for the replies and concern.
He is eating soft foods and drinking water on his own.
Face swelling is down and he is more alert.
I think after 48 hours the critical time is over and I feel more confident that he is going to recover from this injury.
As careful as I am with him it happened so quick.
I thought about how it happened and as I turned around he must have went to jump on my back and missed and fell and hit a metal bar on a desk he fell about 5 feet is my guess
I got that desk out of his room never thought it would be a Hazzard.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone and I will update on how my boy is doing tomorrow.

It's been 76 hours since his fall

Today his face swelling has gone down I would say about 75 percent.
Still alittle milky tears in the corner of his eye
He is still wanting to be left alone not wanting to hang out with mom.
He is eating and drinking water
I feel confident in saying he has made it through this injury.
He needs more rest but for a 9 year old boy to survive this and have the desire to live is a awesome thing

I love him so much and am waiting patiently for t rex and mommy time in a few days when he is feeling up to it.
