Hi. I love the SB. So much information and wonderful caring people. Anyway I’m using Fox Valley dis-stat. My little one keeps getting diarrhea … used pepto first… helped but only short term. He is about 8 weeks old and strictly on fox formula 20/50…He was found by my son on a chilly night… ( about a week old ). fell out of nest…
..
he had his first dia-stat feeding early this AM.. I’m rotation formula and dis-stat with feedings? Can you refrigerate leftover dia-stat after feeding? Or mix new batch each time. I love him so much. but his health really worries me😔.. he can turn weak really quick.
Thank you
Kim

DiaStat should be made fresh before each use.
Feed the DiaStat instead of formula for 2 sequential feedings.
Is this baby well hydrated... they should be well hydrated before feeding formula.
Is the opened Fox Valley 20/50 powder being stored in the freezer, or minimally the fridge? Be sure to not heat and reheat formula... discard any formula that was heated but not used.
I suggest a switch to using bottled water (not distilled) to mix the formula... we see this switch help fix diarrhea a lot. Even if the tap water is very clean for humans, sometimes there are some trace elements present that upset baby's squirrel's stomachs.

Thank you I will try your suggestions. Also he falls over a lot when he walks. I just thought he was weak at first. But he is still doing it ?
I’m also concerned about his teeth. His bottom teeth seem very long. What would be the best way to post a video of him walking…and I will try to get a pic of his teeth. Thank you for responding.

Hi. Baby squirrel’s diarrhea started clearing up this week ….but just over night he went down hill again. Very lethargic today. I’m Only using di stat , a small amount of coconut water and 1/2 strength pedylyte. I have dosed twice with pepto … stool is darkened but still very runny. He did actually eat a small bit of Henry’s blocks yesterday. I’m now questioning if there might be an issue with these.
( they were in the mail box a couple of days before I got them to freezer ). Didn’t know they had been delivered 😣. I really think he should be on more solids but
1: he might have some neuro issues ( falls over a lot with some ataxia noted)
2: his lower incisors are very long maybe creating eating issues
I think he is about 10 or so weeks old
Any suggestions
Thank you
