I am in need of some advice.
I recently got a call from someone who has a pet gray squirrel – she wanted me to take him as she is moving and cannot take him with her. She said she’s tried some other rehabs and they are not willing to help her. She said if she can’t find someone to take him, she will just release him because she doesn't know what else to do. He’s never been outside, so this is a terrible idea! She’s had him for about a year. Her outside cat had attacked him when he was very tiny, quite severely, but he pulled through. He’s pretty friendly with everyone he meets and gets full run of a bedroom. I’m not in any position to take in a NR, but might be able to work with him for release. With his age and never being outside, it is possible to wild him up over time for release? Otherwise, are there any resources for maybe finding him a new home?
