I have a pinkie that was found after a bad storm on Tuesday night. They tried all day Wednesday to reunite with mom but she never came back. I received her Wednesday night. (it is currently Friday night.) She was warmed, rehydrated, and then started on HGMF. She had 2 feeding of 1cc and then started to appear bloated. I've done warm water soaks, Pedialyte, and .5cc of kayro/Pedialyte mixture. She's had some small yellow poops but very small amounts. She's peeing pretty regularly. She's still pretty strong but I'm getting very worried about her. Is there anything else that can be done? Should I continue with the HGMF? I can only find the esbilac with the dark puppy on the can. Is that formula ok to use ? If not, what is better? I will try to post pictures next.

Just to clarify, I'm only using Pedialyte until the bloat is resolved. The formula question was for after that is fixed!

She has now started having watery diarrhea. It is almost clear with light yellow tint.

The diarrhea may help to relieve the bloat, but it isn't a very good wat to do that.

As long as the baby is fully rehydrated (skin snaps back when you grab a small inch and pull it up instead of remaining tented for a moment) I would use plain water instead of the pedialyte.

You can try holding her very gently under the arms and dangling the bottom part of her - from the chest down, in a bowl of warm water - not hot, but warmer than her body temp. Just let her dangle in the warm water for a few minutes, then begin to stroke the stomach in a downward motion while still in the water. You can use a finger or a small flat watercolor brush if ou happen to have one works well. You want to apply a bit of pressure when you do this - you are trying to simulate peristalsis, which is the muscular movement that pushes food through the digestive system and out the back end. This can take some time but usually the warmth and stroking relaxes everything and they will begin to poop. When done, dry her well and get her someplacw warm fast so she doesn't get chilled.

If you are adding egg or egg yolk to the formula, stop. It is likely too much for her system. Use just the goats milk and yogurt at first and see how she takes that.

The "dark puppy" esbilac is the new "white puppy" esbilac. I would get some ASAP and begin using that, watered down a bit more than package instructions at first, working up to full strength as quickly as HER system tells you it is ready.

Our pinkies are the same age, I got mine on Tuesday too. She was 11 grams, now 22 grams a week later. I've never cared or fed something this small. I ordered the tiny nipple and feedings are going smooth now. I hope your little one is feeling better asap.
