Pip is a NR 5 month old Eastern Grey male. He was rescued as a pinkie and imprinted. Pip was out of his cage in the kitchen a few minutes ago and just started going berserk. I am his "tree" and he always runs to me for "safety". But today, he would come to me and then squeak and run off to my bedroom. I thought it my be a new fragrance I was wearing, so I took a shower, and that helped, but when I put him back in his cage, the has starting running up and down the branches and pacing back and forth non stop.

He is my best bud and spent the weekend with me at a camp house (only indoors). We got home yesterday. Could the travel be the cause of distress? It isn't his first trip with us.

I draped a large quilt over a portion of his cage to see if not being able to see us would calm him down. So far, nothing. Any suggestions?

It is probably hormonal. My "always sweet, never ever bites boy nipped me yesterday! He was running around like a maniac, butt dragging on everything (scent marking), snapping his tail around like a whip, totally amped. I have seen this before - in his case they may be a female or femaleS outside in heat, with you he is likely hitting puberty.

First, don't punish, but see if you can get him to nap. Usually when my guy gets like this, sleeping is like a total reboot. If it is his reaction to puberty, you are in for a little ride for a while...
