Yes! Annie's nails has to be trimmed now and again due to catching on things.
There is no easy answer for an uncooperative squirrel. It takes two, one to hold, one to trim.
Even then it's not an easy task with my girl. :shakehead

I just hate stressing her out but I don't want her to lose a toe 😱
Could it be a diet issue, however she's on the protocol squirrel diet. I'm just wondering if extra calcium would help🤷

Depending on diet, I doubt it's a calcium issue. It's hard for a NR to keep their nails filed down themselves outside their natural environment, hard for us to try and duplicate it.
I've not had any success in anything I've tried. The minute I see her hang up on anything I know it's time for a trim.
My fear is her hurting a leg since she only has 3, I also hate stressing her out which it does. Unlike the last time when I thought I was losing her, she "fainted" this time too but stayed (semi) conscious. Scared the sh*t out of Jack and I!

I'm going to line all vertical surfaces with bird paper has like sand to help nails and put it in her dinning area. I'll let you know if this helps👍

I lined her ramps in and out the bars with fine sandpaper, didn't help because then she wouldn't use the ramps.
Instead, she would jump down the cage floors which wasn't going to solve the problem of not wanting her to hurt
her remaining back leg. :shakehead
