Finding dead squirrels with no bodily injury around neighbourhood

Hi All!

As the title says I've found 4 dead squirrels with no injuries around my neighbourhood (in Ontario). We haven't seen any dead birds so I don't think it's avian flu and I suspect it's potentially poisoning (lots of people using weed killers + rat killing boxes). Is there any way to tell and/or help these little guys?

Sorry for this sad discovery...four in the same area does sound like poisoning, however the typical rat poisons are warfarin and brodifacoum (sp?). Both are anticoagulants (blood thinners) sand you would see blood around the squirrel's orifices -- mouth, eyes, ears. The only way to truly know is to have necropsies done, and unless you work at a vet school it's highly unlikely that you can have this easily done. :sad
