Hi everyone! Lately it seems that Murphy does not want the sticks I have been bringing home for her. They are all from the same area and she has chewed on them before. It seems that lately she has not been wanting them which is concerning and Thea apple sticks I buy her she won’t chew on them either. I got her some lava blocks last night and she has been chewing on those and she will still chew pine cones. But I worry for her teeth and not chewing her sticks. I checked her teeth and they looked okay and she is still eating. Is it due to the weather changing on my area or something else?

I’m not aware of changes in the weather affecting their desire to chew on sticks. As long as you’ve examined her teeth and they look fine then her lack of stick chewing is probably because she doesn’t need to chew on it at this time. If sticks, antlers, bones and wood are available to chew on they will chew on them when they instinctually know they need to. You say she’s eating ok? Can she open a pecan or walnut in the shell?

I am unable to edit my post but I also wanted to add that she has also been in her nest more. She will come out of her cage and run around and chew maybe a little and take some cuddles then she goes to the top and lays down and then goes into her nest and won’t come back out. She used to go for hours without wanting to go back into her nest and now it seems like she’s been going into it a lot more. She is turning two in a few weeks but I am worried about her

I will go to the store tomorrow and grab her some nuts she does have almonds every once in a while and she chews them fine. They’re not in a she’ll because she was getting aggressive over them and storing them. She eats all her food fine like teklands. As I’m trying to post this as while she just chewed her pinecone and her sticks!! I get so worried about her but she seems to be fine now.
