I was at Pet Smart looking for corn cobs to feed the local squirrels, and all the had was a product called "mini-pop" by Vitakraft. It's some sort of microwave mini popcorn, that's popped on the cob?

Is this safe to feed squirrels?

Thanks for any advice!

It’s 100% corn. I suppose it wouldn’t be any different than the other corn you’re feeding.

I guess I'll have to try popping it....usually my squirrels pick the corn out of the bird feed, but when I left one of these ears out there, they just left it and took the nuts and cut up apple I placed.

Question - Is it true that apple seeds are poisonous to squirrels? I read that they have arsenic in them? I've been cutting the apples to remove any of the seeds, but jw if that's actually true?

Yes, it’s true. I’d remove the seeds. The same goes for avocado skin and pit. It contains a substance called persin and is toxic to squirrels.
