oak berrys/nuts ok or toxic?

So my familt was up at our lake house and brought home some berrys or nuts that come from the oak trees in central florida and i was wondering if they are good for him or if they are toxic?

aren't oaknuts and acorns the same thing, or am I dead wrong?
