Hello friends,
It’s been awhile since I’ve had any pinkies and lo and behold I just called called for four of them and they’re pretty small. Not the smallest I’ve had, but definitely small (eastern grays). Just got them all weighed in and they range 17g-19g. All still have umbilical stumps so less than 10 days old.
We’re just doing rehydration fluids for now but I’ve got to go out and get stuff for their formula tomorrow (of course I’m all stocked up on FV, but that’s not going to work for these guys) so I’m wondering: What’s the consensus these days on esbilac vs HGM formula for these pinkies? I was planning to grab some goats milk since that’s what I’ve used in years past when esbilac was having some issues, but I also remembered reading that GM isn’t recommended for longer than 2 weeks and these babies still won’t be old enough for FV 20/50 by then.
Also if we go the goats milk route, would you guys hold off on the heavy whipping cream for now or start adding it in pretty quickly? I need a refresher!
Thanks!
