I have a 2 1/2 year old male Eastern gray squirrel. He was a Hurricane Laura rescue when he was a baby. Woke up this am to him whining/crying, especially when touched. He eats Henry's blocks for picky eaters and a variety of fruits and vegetables safe for him. Currently has butternut squash, sweet potatoes, snow peas, blueberries. Anyway, he isn't eating at all today. He did drink quite a bit of water around 11 am today. He appears to be hurting and d/t thirst this am, I suspect he was running fever. He will barely move. I gave him ibuprofen this afternoon. He would only open his eyes half-way and they looked a little glazed. I gave him kool-aid as I thought his blood sugar may be low. His eyes seemed to clear and he started moving around some. I'm trying to give him liquids til I can get him to a vet this am. I need a vet in Northeast Louisiana ASAP. I have been trying to figure out what is wrong when it just occurred to me that I kept my daughter's new puppy a few days ago. Her dog has been wormed and had her rabies shot. There has been nothing else out of the ordinary. Could her puppy have given my squirrel (Buddy is his name) a disease of some sort? And is there anything else I can be doing? Advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Charity

I am so very sorry to hear of Buddy’s passing. :boohoo:boohoo. So many times we never know what is wrong, or that anything is wrong, until it’s too late. RIP precious Buddy.
