I read somewhere that formula can cause hair loss if left on a squirrel's coat after its meal, so I've always tried to wash Rockie with a rag after syringe feeding. When I switched him to bread soaked in formula, I didn't think I'd have to worry about continuing to wash him, but he is a messy eater and gets it all over himself. Under his chin there appears to be a small bald spot. Will the hair grow back? Also, do your squirrels like being washed after their meal? Rockie used to but now he resists me and makes little grunting noises, as if he can't be bothered. Haha.

It just makes me sad to see that he's missing a spot of hair because of his own stubborness. He used to like being clean but now he prefers to do it on his own.
