Hi all. Last night we saved 3 southern flying squirrels from my cat. They are young, but their eyes are open and we're running up and down a tree, so believe they are close to weaned. Husband has decided that we should now become squirrel parents. I've done a little bit of research, but any tips, tricks, ideas, and help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m a little confused. Do you assume something happened to their mom or are they old enough to be on their own? Can you post a picture of them so we can get an idea of size and age? If they’re young enough they may still need formula?
Did your cat have any of them in its mouth? Cat saliva from even the tiniest puncture is fatal to squirrels and would need to be treated with antibiotics.
Taking on little flyers is a commitment. They can live over 10 years in captivity and are capable of breeding in captivity as well.
They require a special diet in order to prevent metabolic bone disease which is caused from a diet high in phosphorous rich foods like nuts and seeds and foods not high enough in calcium. Here’s the link to the Flyer diet. https://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?37700-HEALTHY-DIET-for-PET-Flying-Squirrels

I did not find any puncture marks on any of the squirrels. I do believe it was mom that was left as a trophy from my cat. I hope I was able to add the pictures. It has been years since I've used a forum like this
