Expired meds. Any good?

I’ve been going through my meds stock. There are some expired ones. I know that sometimes even exp. meds are ok, but don’t remember which ones and how “old” they can be.

There are:

Prednisone 5mg, white tablets; exp. oct 29. 2013
Amoxi caps 500mg, exp. oct 29, 2013
Smz tmp white tablets exp. June 2015
Baytril white tablet, exp. June 2015.

They’ve been stored in the fridge all this time.

Is any of this still ok or no good?

Also, in terms of expiration: do they become simply less potent/useless, but harmless. Or do they become toxic?

We have some people who may be able to address specific dates, but to the best of my knowledge, the only ones tthat we would be using that can become toxic with age is docycycline and tetracycline. They expire after a year but can be definitely safely used for two.

I don't believe any of the meds you've listed are "dangerous" after they expire, but they are old enough to be unreliable and if indeterminable efficacy. They may be better than nothing, but any of them that can be replaced with unexpired versions would be prudent.
