Can you use Cephalexin for pneumonia if so what is the dose and frequency? I cannot find Ciprofloxacin or Amoxicillin today.

From what I can see, it IS used in humans sometimes for pneumonia. It would be worth starting it and if you can get cipro, switch over to that when you have it.

Anything we dose for you, we will require the weight of the baby and the size of the pill you have in milligrams. YOU will need a 1ml or smaller syringe without the needle but WITH clear markings on it.

I gave cephalexin right before I found the Cipro so not sure how long to wait to give the Cipro as well.

I PM'd updated dosing info for the Cipro. Start the Cipro now... don't give any more cephalexin.

I also deleted the medication dosing info from the open board... rules violation.

Hi Dodo:
Why do you suspect that your Squirrel has pneumonia or in particular, Aspiration Pneumonia? Was there and incident that makes you suspicious that aspiration occurred? Is he eating and drinking normally? Has there been a change in his behavior? Have you observed any signs of distress such as problems breathing or abnormal sounds associated with breathing? What is his diet? I hope your Squirrel will do well!
Regards,
SamtheSquirrel
