I had been using the pre-mix milk, but have since ordered some powdered milk (Esbilac) and I am now having problems with getting the powder to fully dissolve in warm water, therefore, the wet left over powder keeps getting stuck in the nipple - clogging it up and creating feeding problems.
Is there any thing I can do to help resolve this problem?

I had a little tiny wisk that I believe I found at Wal-Mart. I'm not even sure what it was originally for, it was very long and the wisk part was small. It was very inexpensive.

Someone sent me a little one from wallmart battery operated that mixes like nobodys bussiness. I believe it was about 5$. The end of it has a coil type beater.

I think I still have one of those around the house..... but I had read on the lable not to blend the powder, therefore, I did not use it.
Soooooo - Can I Use IT?

I have used mine now since May & haven't had a problem. Just make sure you let it settle before its served it does tend to make the formula bubble up when you have mixed it for a while.
It mixes the formula great. I mix up enough for a whole day, which right now is quite a lot.:D

Thanks...... I just have two squirrels to feed, but I think I will mix their daily intake of milk up the night before and see how that goes.
I just love learning...... and I am learning so much about Squirrel's- :)
Taking care of these two precious babies has reawaken my thoughts of going back to school to be a Vet Tech.

I also use one of those mini whisks, and my clumping problem vanished. I got mine attached to a tea mix at TJ Maxx, back in the gift food section. I bought it just for the whisk. I let the formula sit for a couple of minutes for the air gas to escape.

Hi Rhap, remember me?
I'll bet you're mixing the powder with the full amount of water all at once. Try this..
Measure out the amount of powder you need and measure out your hot water. Add approximately 1/4 - 1/3 of the water to the powder and mix thoroughly using a fork. Use the fork to break up lumps. Then add and mix in half the remaining water. Then stir in the rest of the water.
No lumps, no significant air bubbles, ready to serve and if you've made the
correct amount, no storing or reheating! :thumbsup

Thanks Hazel....... I will try that until I can locate my battery operated mixer or get to Wal-Mart for the whisk - :thumbsup
Who would have thought that mixing powdered puppy milk was done just like one does when they make home-made gravy for breakfast - :rotfl
