I took in a group of unrelated babies from 2 different veterinarian offices several weeks ago. One of them was a little female who was probably about 3 weeks old at the time of intake, she came with aspiration pneumonia and was freezing cold. She was treated for 10 days with baytril and has recovered 100% from her pneumonia. But before she even opened her eyes I noticed she was different. She would run in circles and have tremors and shake, these get worse when she is excited. I had a vet friend look at her and she believes that this baby has a possible spinal cord injury and should not be released. But I want to see if anyone on here has seen something like this and how they handled it. The video is not that good but you can see her tremors. She gets around fine, but if over stimulated and excited she will start running in circles, always turning to the left. Although she can walk in a straight line and turn right. These episodes have Thankfuly become less as she has grown. She's getting close to the age that I out them outside. So she's going to go see a different vet before then for the ultimate decision on release able or not, but I just Wana hear from other squirrel rehabbers to.
