How much calcium were you giving him per day?
Can you gently rinse his penis off? Have you seen him pee?
Can you give us a weight on him? We can dose the Baytril for you if you can. You will need a 1ml or smaller syringe with no needle to dilute and dose it.

No, but you will need a 1ml or smaller syringe to dose... the dose is a very small amount. The upside is that Baytril tastes awful, so squirting this tiny bit will be easier than trying to get him to take 10X the amount (volume) if diluted.

Hi Ashleyhelene:
I wanted to "bump" your thread back in line so that one of the Admins can evaluate things and dose your antibiotic if necessary and to also get some opinions from others on TSB. Apparently there have been no responses to your thread as of yet. Sorry! How is your Squirrel doing now? I noticed that the Baytril is the 10% formulation that is usually used to make into a further diluted solution on a daily basis. Is this the original bottle and are the contents original and not not further diluted? What is the expiration date on the bottle? The reason for these questions is the when the original Baytril has additional water added to it, it is recommended that it only be kept for 1 day or 2 if refrigerated and then should be discarded. How do you know that her Calcium is "low?" What does your Squirrel's regular diet consist of? How are you supplementing his Calcium? Is he getting any other supplements?

Thanks for the bump Sam... this member has started several threads and I finally combined them this morning... mulitple threads like that makes it difficult to keep up and see the "whole picture" when the squirrel is having problems which the member is seeking assistance.
Baytril dosing was sent back on the 10th.
The OP has not responded to the questions CM posed a few days ago... hopefully all is well with the squirrel, but it would be more considerate if more members would come back and update the threads, especially if the squirrel is responding well (this is when they often disappear never to be heard from again). We do what we can do to help...

Sorry, I didn't realize that there was another thread associated with this same Squirrel and the same issues. I would still like to ask the Calcium and diet questions, however. I assume any potential Baytril issues with the 10% solution have already been dealt with.

No apologies needed... we all get flustered, and can miss important posts / info when there are multiple threads going at the same time for the same squirrel. Sometimes folks start a new thread for every question which is very counterproductive not having all the info in the same thread... It is difficult enough to keep up when it is in a single thread. Maybe the only worse thing is advice being sent in PM's IMO (med dosing or confidential info). Okay, I will get off my box of soap now... :soapbox:grin2

I figured his calcium levels was low cause he stopped eating and moving would not come out his nesting box. I make his healthy blocks at home bought the product from henry pets. I wasn't putting enough vitamin powder in his mixture when I made his blocks. I just figured that out. I got with Henry pets and they help me out on the recipe. He is doing better he is eating now and will get up play some. still sleeping alot. His little wee wee is still sticking out and im still given him the baytril. I'm sorry I haven't answer my mom got covid and I been taking care of her too. I will also given him vegetables fresh 2x a day and like 1 small piece of fruit.

If he will let you, keep a little vaseline on his penis to keep it moist.

Thanks! I hope your mom is doing better! I'm glad that you were able to talk with Henry's and got your Squirrel's diet on-track with the proper amount of Calcium supplementation as well as the other Vitamins and Minerals. Please keep updating the status of your Squirrel's status!
