Hi. First time squirrel mom. I need some help with feeding. We have 2 babies who we think are 6 weeks old now. We have been feeding them fox valley round the clock but are ready to try solids. We have healthy blocks and picky blocks as well as a small piece of broccoli, Brussels sprout and sweet potato. They won’t touch any of it. Any ideas???

Put the Picky block in their bin with them... cut 1 block in half, a half for each... and do not give them any other solids (no veggies, period) until they are eating the block well. They will start shredding it at first but eventually start eating, usually about 6 - 6.5 weeks. Providing the other foods... is choosing the much more difficult path in raising healthy squirrels.

The Healthy blocks are not well liked.. I use only the Picky and the Wild blocks.

If you post a picture (or tell us when their eyes opened) we can verify the age if you would like.

Those babies are plenty old enough to be eating solids... give the the blocks to start (and only the blocks).

Thank you so so much. We are trying to learn everything we can and be good foster parents.
