Yesterday I found 2 squirrels in the road near my house, cold and dehydrated. My guess after looking at photos of other babies would be that they’re 3 weeks old.
I brought them inside and followed rehydration instructions as well as basic care instructions from here and Henry’s, however I do not yet have a grams scale. I have one arriving tomorrow morning, but until then I have been syringe feeding 3 CC of powdered Esbilac (slightly more or less depending on if they seem hungry or not) every 3 hours. They’re nursing great and very active compared to before!

I will post their weights here and adjust the amount of milk ASAP. I would also like to switch them to FV 20/50 tomorrow but want advice first— which is better? I prefer and trust FV more than powdered Esbilac, but I don’t want to stress their poor guts more.

To me, they seem underweight compared to the other squirrels I’ve seen on this board. I will feel a huge amount of relief once I’m able to keep a precise measurement of their weight on hand to ensure they’re gaining properly.

Thank you so much for all the valuable information. Here are some photos of the babies— I’d love an assessment on them.

Welcome. Yes, I would say they are 3-weekers and they look quite good, considering.
Don't switch them to 20/50 for another week, or until eyes open. You may want to add another Fox Valley product, however: Ultra Boost. I swear by it, for chubby babies with perfect poops.

However, we can try to find an experienced rehabber near you who will raise these babies to release. It gives them their best chance at a true wild squirrely life. 🙂
