Can anyone out there tell me if it is alright for squirrels to eat Gardienias?
Timber likes to eat rose pettles and panseys and I know those are alright for him but Saturday I walked in with a Gardinia in my hand and he promptly took it away and began eating it. I took it away from him then with great protest because I wasn't sure if it was alright for him to be eating. He has shown any ill effects so far but then he only got a few bites.

What about redbud trees Pamela? Everytime we go out he is wanting to eat on those? Never let him, wasn't sure if it was ok or not.

Apparently gardenias are NOT poisonous. Here is a list of edible plants:

OK got a stupid question, how would you stop them from eating of the bad ones?? What does it do to them if they do eat them? Is it just if they eat alot of them? Boy what is up with all the questions?:dono

Usually they have better sense, and some instinct that tells them not to eat anything bad for them.(Chocolate not included!!) Anyhow, here's another site that tells you what parts of what plants and how it affects you
