We are trying. Please keep your posts in ONE thread so people can keep the info together. I assume that this is the correct name of the med you have - you originally asked about doxycycline. I have ZERO info on this drug - hopefully someone else does. Do you have accss to any other antibiotics? Human meds are fine.
What kind of squirrel is it? 48.3 grams is a tiny infant's weight. 48.3 ounces is a BIG squirrel.

You are the only one that has replied to any of my posts and I started posting yesterday. I have had her and her sister for six years so it is very upsetting to me to basically be watching her die

The Dicloxacillin was just prescribed to me as a preventative for infection, had surgery on my shin to remove basal cell carcinoma

I’m also having a birthday party for my granddaughter tomorrow which is why sometimes it takes me a while to reply.

She typically lives in an aviary with her sister in my backyard I brought her and her sister in about two weeks ago cuz they were both acting sick. After two days her sister went back out to the aviary and she of fine. I have been giving Chip ensure with a syringe.

I did take them to a vet two weeks ago I paid $270 before they would look at them, three hours later they told me that they triaged them and they were still waiting on the vet. Once the vet got there they wanted me to pay an additional $400 upfront for diagnostics. I didn’t have it so I left

Six years ago I could have afforded that, I have two granddaughters now so money is tighter

Squirrel weighs 48.3 grams.
This is how much a 3 or 4 week old baby grey squirrel weighs. Even an adult flyer weighs more than 48 grams. Maybe you mean 483grams?!?!?!
There is no references for dicloxacillin in WMB or the Rat Guide. The Merck manual says it is safe for rats and mice (rodents), however I find no dosing parameters for rodents.
If you can provide an accurate weight I can send parameters for dosing dicloxicillin for dogs and cats... they are not rodents, but they are mammals like squirrels... if you would like.
A small adult grey weighs 300grams... a large adult grey can weigh 3 times that. Our greys around here probably average 450grmas give or take... I know Florida greys tend to be on the small side.

Dosing (general mammal guidelines) sent in a PM for Dicloxacillin. If 48.3grams was a typo for 483grams, then you should be all set. But please update the thread with the accurate weight so that it is here, especially if she needs a different antibiotics to tackle this infection.
