I have been trying to find information on the safety of these pods for our little friends. Although these pods are being sold as “safe” for all small animals (rats, rabbits, gerbils, etc) there are posts on other sites saying they can cause digestive issues and blockages. Just wondered if anyone knows about these kapok pods.

"The New Kapok Nest & Chew Pod is a natural pod from a white silk-cotton tree.
Ka-Pok pod shells are a natural chew source and the comfortable cotton like material provides an excellent nesting material."

I don't get the impression they are meant for digestion. The shell, a chew source. The "cotton" like material, nesting material.
I would think just chewing on the pod could result in at least some digestion of the inner material, this could very well cause
digestive issues and blockages. Thinking our furry friends are not going to try and eat it is too much of a risk factor IMO.

Thank you for your help. I kind of had the same idea after reading other small animals had issues with them. I wish companies would just be honest.

IMO, with the majority of advertising it's all about the sales and many times walk a fine line between truth and deception.
The inside of those pods may be meant to be used for nesting material but explain that to a rabbit who's diet mainly consists
of the same material they use for nesting, grass hey. I'd be hard pressed to not believe that a rabbit wouldn't eat those fibers.

These pet/wildlife food related company's are all about sales and net worth and their uneducated ignorance is usually displayed
on their packaging. Anytime I see a variety of animals on a packaging I really detail whats in it. If its showing a squirrel and rabbit
I don't even bother looking at it. Squirrels are omnivores, rabbits are herbivores. Their diets are different and rabbits have different
digestive systems from that of a squirrel.

After viewing the pretty pictures of a variety of wildlife on the front packaging of this wildlife food blend, here's a good example of
deceptive advertising... with a cover their azz bottom line.

It provides tasty and well-balanced food that includes animals' favorite ingredients to supplement their natural diets. Reseal package and store

seed product. Keep feeders filled with fresh food. Discard old food before refilling and clean feeders regularly to minimize mold and bacteria.
