I just caught a young deer mouse in my house. She's awfully cute, but she needs to be released and I can't do it properly right now because I am leaving on vacation on Friday. Is there anyone in Eastern Mass willing to take her for two weeks until I get back? I don't want to just throw her out there without getting her into a little house that I can put out with her to give her a chance to get acclimated.

If you drive down to central / west coast Florida for your vacation, I'll take her.

My last one stuck around for over 5 years.

Update: Dodie was released in mouse paradise at Fisher Hill Reservoir Park and wildflower garden this morning. She leaped into a wilderness of lush, uncut grass, shrubs, young trees, and 18 inch plants that all smelled heavenly. I left her half a cup of hamster food in a little hollow I dug. She's been eating that food for the last four nights, so maybe she'll recognize it. I couldn't find any resource to help and time is running out. She is in God's hands. At least I'm sure there are no poison traps around and there should be lots of insects and grubs.
