this is a recent soft release who was on my deck just a few minutes ago. I picked her up without much resistance and found her in bad condition.

she weighs 380 g.

she has a swollen reddened face, eyes reddened and a slight white exudate. her balance is off and she is in obvious distress. her balance is off (again, uri would possibly result in otitis also).

I have administered baytril and metacam. she is in a medical isolation cage with vitamin infused water and easy to eat foods should she be hungry. she does not appear dehydrated but i will recheck and administer antihistamine and fluids if needed.

i might try some milk thistle as a detoxifying agent in case she has gotten into an environmental toxin
other learned suggestions from seasoned rehab clinicians please?

I think you’re doing every thing you can for now. Stabilizing her is the first order and that’s what you’re doing. You might want to offer warm Pedialyte or the homemade hydration fluid. I would give her a warm rice buddy but probably not a heating pad incase she has a head injury.

It’s hard to know what you’re treating at this point. When she is stable I would examine her mouth and teeth. Watch her for seizures. If she has a head injury, the Baytril might not be the best antibiotic.

The white exudate from the eyes could be white tears an indication of pain.

Yes the water is 75% pedialyte plus a drop of petinic.
