Penis Clogged and Swelling

319851Hi! I have a ~6 week old male that has a clogged penis. He had a sibling suckling and I separated them. He may have been self suckling too. The tip of his penis did scab up and I did a warm compress and got it off and he was doing good. I read on here coconut oil helps keep it moist and lubricated so it wouldn’t scan up again. We were doing good and then this morning it was closed up again. This time I can’t get a scab. I gave him a warm bath for an hour and a half but it won’t open back up. When he tries to pee it swells like the pee is filling up he penis like a ballon. I’ve been trying to get him opened up with the warm bath but it just won’t open and I can’t see a scab. It’s like the hole is clogged up. I’m afraid the coconut oil clogged it up. He got upset because it hurts. So I let him be for a bit but need some ideas on how to get him unclogged so he can pee. Any thoughts for the poor little guy?

Soak him again for a while, then starting at the top of the penis where it meets the body, roll it back and forth between your thumb and finger for a couple minutes, then move your fingers down a bit and roll some more - almost like very slowly milking a cow. Keep soaking him as you do this - hopefully you are going to break the scab loose from where it is lodged inside the urethra this way without injuring him further. Take your time - it may take some to accomplish this. You may need to use a toothpic to fish it out - bang the tip against the counter once or twice to blunt it slightly before doing this.

Once you get it out and he pees, you may have to do this repeatedly until it heals. And you may need to build him a little diaper to keep him away from it. Sometimes feeding these babies a little more will help - if he gets hungry he will go for what feels most like a nipple and we know what that is.

Have you tried *massaging the penis while soaking in warm water?
* Roll the tip back and forth between fingers while applying light pressure.

Also, you can make a paste using just sugar and water and packing it
on/around penis, that will bring the swelling down.
