We released our overwintered female squirrel a few months ago. She lives in the tree on our patio which was used to feed the local wilds for the last 4 years. Everything seemed fine until this week when one of our 5 year old tame females started coming back to the patio tree where she used to get treats. We try to redirect the 5 year to another area but she eventually comes back to this tree. Tonight she chased the new release out of the tree and the new release ended up in the side of our roof that is waiting to be repaired. Any suggestions on how to still be kind to the older tame squirrel but help the new squirrel keep her tree? It is hard to ignore the older ones too. Thanks

Perhaps multiple feeding sites, NONE of them by the disputed tree will help. They just have to work this stuff out - all you can do is try to make things easier for everyone with multiple food sites.

Thats what I will try to do. I have her second nest box that was kept in her release cage on the floor with her scent on it too. She has been sleeping in her patio tree nest for 2 months now. Do you think I would mess things up by putting her nest box in her current patio tree at this point or should I wait until it gets a little cooler out? Thanks again
