What are these little nubbs on the bottom of the paws?

Those are their paw pads. They are what the squirrel puts his weight on when walking and running.

What are these little nubbs on the bottom of the paws?

I used to call those Tuff’s 4x4 pads lol. He seemed not so sure footed until he got those. I loved watching him develop over the months. It’s amazing.
