Aspiration concern

Hi guys im new to this i have found a 5/6 week old grey squirrel, he weighs 79g and has a good appetite. On trying a nipple he aspirated but i held him upside down and cleared his face, i have heard an occasional click coming from his mouth when hes fidgeting in his sleep and he seems to sleep alot,
I have 1 capsule of fluoxacilin in the house. Before i treat him i would like to know how to dilute and for how long i should treat, to be on the safe clicking isnt just his teeth as i have listened to his chest and nothing.

You mention a “good appetite”. Baby squirrels with aspiration pneumonia don’t have an appetite. They are also lethargic.
Sounds from the mouth that are ‘click like’ are normal. With aspiration pneumonia the click is from the chest and it is constant.

Baby squirrels sometimes aspirate and formula comes out the nose. We try to avoid that but formula in the nose doesn’t necessarily mean aspiration pneumonia. The formula has to get into the lungs to cause pneumonia.

Would a dose of antibiotics be helpful to be on the safe side. I would take him to a vet but in the uk they are classed as vermin and i just need to see him back in his tree.

Also if anyone can recommend a good formula mix ratio as everybody says different he has 5ml of multimilk gold for puppies and kittens, i started with 1:2 ratio and that gave him diarrhoea so yesterday he was on dioralyte witch is uk version of peidialite and today im starting him with 1:3 about 3ml bit more often.

Thank you i will get some asap and how should i mix same as mentioned above?
After 9pm he never want to take formula just drink water and is so sleepy allday he had his regular feeds (2-3 ml evey 2 hours from 8am to 7pm) is it normal to refuse formula if he is thirsty, hes not bloated, urinates on his own and poops thickened up until tonight after a day of formula, i definitely dont think its pneumonia cause there has been no clicks today and body temp has never fallen below 30⁰c, am I just panicking hoping this little guy will pull through.
Hes really figity when sleeping and squirms around alot. I am potentially thinking he might be 6/7 weeks and just underdeveloped because his top teeth have erupted.

I know theres alot but i just cant find information on normal behaviour so i know hes not ill

Feeding every 2 hours is too often. Spread that out to every 4hrs for now and then eventually you can spread it out even more. In 2 hours, he’s probably not hungry. Based on his weight he would be taking between 4-5.5mL of formula. The guideline for the amount of formula is 5-7% of the body weight per feeding. As they get older, they will take more than 7%. Start by giving 4mL every 4 hrs. He will be more satisfied with a full belly. :)

I used Royal Canin once. It’s difficult to get in the US and expensive here. It is an excellent formula. If I remember correctly, I think it was mixed 1 scoop of powder to 2 scoops of powder but read the directions to confirm that. Don’t use the bottle and nipples that are included in the can with the formula.
