I need help with diluting clavamox down. I couldn't find a vet to see my baby so a doc wrote me a prescription but it is definitely too strong for a baby squirrel.
It's 400mg/57mg per 5ml

How can I dilute it or would 1 drop be sufficient?

We need to know how much the baby weighs to be able to dose. Why do you think it needs antibiotics?

I can't find my scales anywhere. She's roughly 9 weeks or so based on her teeth. I'm afraid she may be coming down with AP. She's clicking ever so often, but not all of the time. I figured starting her on it before it got any worse would be better than not. She is active and eating amazingly!

Babies can get a click that is nasal based and intermittent but has nothing to do with aspiration pneumonia. AP causes babies to become very fussy, lethargic, and not interested in eating. I would wait before I gave any antibiotics.

You have the most important part of treatment cos you already have the antibiotic. Good for you.

Please get a scale. It is used to gauge how much daily formula to feed, but most importantly, to correctly dose meds. None of us are comfortable dosing when we do not have a babies wt.

To confirm, the clicking sound is not constant?
When you do hear it, when is the sound occurring? During feeding? Sleeping? Playing?

Preemptive medication administration is not typically advised. However, in the event that your baby needs dosing, I strongly advise you to either locate that scale or to acquire a new one. It is very risky business dosing any animal without a confirmed weight.
