Hey! I just found a baby a couple of hours ago that the neighbors cats had gotten a hold of. I’ve already started to rehydrate with home-made pedialyte & treated the wounds with saline. I’ve just read on here, however, that cat saliva can be fatal to squirrels. If anyone could point me in the direction of where to purchase antibiotics & also how I should be administering them, that would be super helpful!! Thanks!

You can get some antibiotics on-line, but you do not have time waiting for them to arrive. Check the cabinets, ask family, friends and neighbors. Many antibiotics can treat for cat bite, some more common meds include Augmentin (Clavamox is animal version) and Cipro (Baytril is animal version).

You will need only a single pill. If you have or find any antibiotics, post what you have and someone will advise if it will be effective.

We'll need to know the weight of the squirrel to dose any medications.

If you are in a big city you may be able to find "fishflox" at a large pet store with fish supplies. This is ciprofloxacin (Cipro).
