I was brought two baby squirrels last night. One of them is open mouth breathing and making the clicking sound when inhaling and exhaling to indicate a bad case of AP. He is 67 grams and the other is 55 grams. He did eat ok last night but is bloated this morning because of the open mouth breathing. I did put him in warm water and it did help some. I do have baby gas drops that I can use but don’t know the dosage. As far as antibiotics, I only have clindamycin 75 mg. I’m actively trying to find something else but am coming up short. I’ve called several vets in the area and no one is willing to help. I do have a nebulizer machine but no oxygen. I don’t want this little guy to die. Any help is appreciated.

Can you try funding a rehabber with the proper medication for aspiration pneumonia? You can search Google " Wildlife Rehabilitator's in "states name" or search ahnow.org. this is the quickest fix.

I am trying, DNR doesn’t want to do anything and the closest isn’t able to. I have amoxicillin now if that would work.

Is the Amoxicillin straight Amox or Clava-mox?

What are you feeding?
How much are you feeding. how often?
Hold it's chest to your ear, is clicking coming from his chest?
Is the clicking on both inhale and exhale?

Just amoxicillin liquid
I have Esibilac, every 3-4 hours and with a 1 cc syringe upright.
Yes it is and he is mouth breathing even while sleeping.

I live near Savannah i don't know where or how close you are but maybe try Oatland Island Wildlife Preserve. They may have resources.

What is the strength and milligrams of the liquid Amox?
What is the expiration?

Addressing the bloat, how much (cc's) are you feeding?
