View Full Version : Irritated spot on hand?

My baby is about 5-6 weeks old I found him 2 weeks ago. His eyes were closed but have since opened. He has been doing very well, eating, going potty, and gaining weight. However, I noticed this spot on his wrist/paw last night and It was not there the day before. It doesn't seem to be bothering him and it is on the spot of his hand that he frequently used to rub his little face. Any clue what this is and should I be worried? 319118319119

They just HAVE to hold the syringe while you feed them and get formula all over themselves, and if left on the skin it will cause "formula scald." You need to REALLY clean their face, hands and arms with a damp cloth after each feeding. Such a cutie!

I have been cleaning his face with warm water after each feeding and his hands as well but I haven't been focusing on his hands as much! I will be wiping them better from now on! Is there anything I should put on it? I don't want it to bother him. I'm a first time squirrel mama and I just want the best for my little baby

Just keep it clean- it will heal up fine. It is not bad - I have seen much worse! They are wiggly and hard to clean up and we don't want to hurt them! BTW, mama squirrel would stomp him down, hold him to the bottom of the nest with as many paws as she needs and clean him the heck up, ignoring all the protests!
