Fur Loss possibly fungas

How do I treat a fungal infection causing fur breakage and loss.
I have attached a photo.
She is on Revolution, Henry's Healthy Blocks and gets a variety of fresh greens and veggies every day.
Where she has not fur the skin is clean and smooth and there is no skin thickening.

Is there any scabbing? Why do you think it's a fungus?
If it were then something like a topical anti fungal but you would have to know what is safe.
Nothing in her bedding causing it🤔
My only suggestion is Revolution which your already doing. How long has she been on Revolution?

My Conker earlier this year started losing his fur same area, I didn't know what was up and thought maybe mites but couldn't figure how he could have that🤷
Anyway I treated him with Revolution. It turns out it was his hair just shedding and new soft hair grew back.

I don't know how your guy's hair looked at first, but this thread mentions some hair loss on line #12 I think. It looks much like my release just a few weeks ago too. He had already shed his winter coat way back in spring, so thought it was really weird he was doing another shed in the middle of summer. I was also worried since none of the other wilds were doing this. I wondered if his body was confused since he was sort of a winter release. Maybe yours is mixed up since he lives indoors? Can heat or air conditioning mix them up anyone know? Or maybe examine his amount of safe sun exposure?

She has not scaling of her skin, it is very smooth and soft. She has been on revolution for 3 months. Here enclosure and bedding are cleaned every day. She is active and eats well.
I have read about fungus on squirrels. I know it is not health threatening and most squirrels become immune to its. I've read coconut or coconut oil but I was looking for something topical.
Like I said, she is and had been on revolution, she has not scabs, there is no evidence of thickened skin and no rashes or redness.

It does look like it, doesn't it? I wonder why they get it? From what I read it is common in the summer and more so in damp weather. I also see that they develop immunity to it. You have answered some big questions for me with this.

Mister P had it when he was young and it stopped when he was 5. Zeke has it too - he has a couple patches on his thighs. I have watched what happens with his fur very closely this year to see how it all started, and what happened is this: He started his spring molt which went from his nose down to about his "waist" and his summer fur grew in sleek and beautiful. From the waist down he didn't molt! He kept his winter fur, so he looked like he was wearing a fitted cashmere top with the pants from a ghillie suit. Now, as we head toward the end of summer, that old fur which should have fallen out and been replaced in the spring is looking really moth eaten, and it is in those areas he has some thinning of his hair and perfect pink skin underneath. If he follows what he has done every year before this one, in the fall he will blow the whole coat and hs winter coat will grow in thick and lush and he will be perfect again.

As to treatment, wiping down the area with diluted betadyne might help but honestly, I think anything you would do would need to be done right when it started. As far as actually encouraging new hair growth, there is nothing like emu oil. The Aussies have used it for years on livestock that get tangled up in barbed wire to heal the wound and rapidly regrow the hair over it, learned from the aboriginal people there. I use emu oil a lot. Zeke really doesn't like the smell, which is REALLY mild and almost not even there to me!

This does seem to be a summer condition and I live in a humid state, even with AC the air is moist. Last summer she sported a punk rock furdo but never lost all fur in an area. I will try emu oil but I am sure she will not like it, here nose is very sensitive. I will also try giving her a piece of coconut.

CM now you've got me curious about emu oil regrowth of hair! I'm a hair stylist and I've never heard this, but you bet I'm going to try it👍 it's all natural as well. I've always been told it helps joint pain, but hair growth makes it even more attractive.

LOL. Many, many years ago I was part of an internet parrot board. One of the members was an Aussie living in New Zealand. I mentioned once that I used emu oil on my face and she almost lost her mind - wanted to know if I was going to be the Bearded Lady at the local circus! I had to explain it only grows hair where there are the proper follicles for it (duh!) and that I wasn't going to be mistaken for Sasquatch. I have seen it listed, along with castor oil, as a hair regrowth treatment but, um, walking around with oily hair is pretty nasty!

It has antiseptic properties too. I rub it on cuts and scrapes after they have sealed over and it helps diminish scars - and I scar badly.

Please don't anybody tell Limu Emu.

I bought a coconut. I don't know if she will eat at but if nit I can make a paste with my mortar and pestle and then squeeze some oil out of it and rub some on her. I will let you know how it goes

Kelly Brady used jewelweed ointment on one of her babies' tail and the fur grew back nicely. She got some on Etsy. I got some too and it helped my eczema.

Ohmygosh. My release did this too! He did a spring molt. Then in summer he did another head/nose molt. Then last month a "I'm gonna take my shirt off and leave long pants on" thing like yours. The blur in the photo at his shoulder is just my dirty window. Thanks to you and others for the posts about this as I feel much better that something else isn't happening now, phew! :)
