Shinobi my 20 week old grey squirrel lady a toe nail

Long story short he lost a toe nail from his right back foot. We sorted it out cleaned it up ect, now it seems he has it stuck together with dried blood, I'm soaking it in warm salt water to try and unstick it for him.
Just anyone else had this sort of issue, any advice would be much appreciated.
I had found what we believed he got stuck on and removed it.

Yes, often this happens with a certain type of cage where they get their toes stuck in the corners. It doesn't usually get serious. just watch for infection, or for him chewing at it as if it bothers him.

I'm in England so vets are actually a bit clueless about squirrels, and wildlife rescue centres can't help because he's grey. He's happy eating drinking and playing, just won't put pressure on his back paw.
He had chewed through a fleese he had in his nest, it had cotton on the inside, that's my theory going by blood,
But I wouldn't mind information on squirrel safe antibiotics and dosage.,so I can tell a vet
