hello again. ;)
that's too bad about loki. i'm afraid you'll have to answer more questions. :D
have you been weighing loki?
have you changed her diet?
about how old is she now?
what did her last poop look like?
has anything about her changed besides the amount of poop?
did she get more baytril for the clicking?

thanks again, byrd. ;)
here's how i stimulate- maybe changing technique for that will help, too.
i usually hold the babies with two fingers on their sides so that their arms don't get in the way. i lean them back and use a kleenex type tissue to stimulate. sometimes i'll wet the tissue a little with very warm water. for pee, i very quickly rub back and forth. for poop, i usually do downward rubs that are slower and a little stronger, ranging from the belly to the anus.
if she doesn't poop within another day, we may want to add something to her diet that would loosen things up a bit.
when you say her stomach is soft, how long has it been that way? is there any discoloration on her tummy? does her belly seem too large for her body?
The stomach only seems overly large after eating for a while. i will try the new technique and i am also diluting her formula more.
Byrd Hi
How yellow is the babies stool? Is there any yellowing of the babies skin?? Stools should be a dark yellow to gold in color. Bright yellow or white yellow maybe be signs of jaundice. DO NOT PANIC. Jaundice can be treated homeopathically. PM me if you think there is reason to be concerned and we can discuss it. :)
Her stools when he had them are dark yellow and solid. Loki is pink on bottom and grey on her back.
Ok i have a strong feeling she is constipated or something is blocking her from using the bathroom. what can i give her as a safe laxitive?
I diluted the formula to mostly pedialyte with just a little actual formula and she still hasnt been pooing regularly.
Okay I think I see a possible problem. Mixing the pedilyte into your formula messes with the balance of salts between the two and causes dehydration. Just the opposite of what we want to do. I would take the baby back to just pedilyte to rehydrate for several feedings and then slowly reintroduce fromula starting at a dilution of 1 part esbilac in 4 parts water for several feedings and the 1 in 3 and finally 1 in 2. This could take a couple of days. :) If you feel baby still needs hydration fluids either a small amount can be given between feedings or alternate feeding with formula. Just don't give them together. I would also recommend adding a 1/2 part organic live cultured yogurt to your formula for probiotics. This should help straighten out the poops. :)
If you have a health food store near you I would suggest a product called Boiplasma ( also called cell salts or biosalts ) dissolve one tablet in the formula twice a day ( 12 hours apart or first and last feeding ) for the next few days until baby is back on tract. :)
Hope this helps.

hey mars, those bioplasma tablets- how many mg per pill?
hey mars, those bioplasma tablets- how many mg per pill?
Bioplasma is semi-homeopathic:) so it's not how much you give at any one time but how often you repeat it. The Tablets are really just a sugar base and the actual remedy is sprayed on it. So I give the same one tablet measure to a pinkie squrirrel as I do to the baby coonie. I don't even think the package is marked with mg. :D
